Teenage Engineering is back with its latest offering, this time introducing the Oplab. The tinker kit and DIY device is a welcome addition to Teenage Engineering’s lineup, which also includes the OP-1.
The Oplab, being a musical prototyping platform, helps the user generate and manipulate sound to their liking. The main board shows a series of connections: three USB ports, three MIDI connections and a CV in and CV out jack. If youn think you’ll need the Oplab, the mainboard will cost you $299.
There are a number of add-ons that make the Oplab more versatile. There’s an accelerometer, which costs $49, a piezo microphone and a pressure sensor. The sensors are plug and play so it’s easy to tinker with them without having to bother yourself with wires.
