Windows Phone Marketplace Hits 60,000 Apps

The last data we had on the number of applications available in Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace was back around the end of December, where we heard that there were around 50,000 applications available.
It looks like the Windows Phone Marketplace has now reached over 60,000 applications, and it took Microsoft just under a month to reach their latest milestone.

The news comes for AAWP, who have said that Microsoft are adding around 400 newapplications to the Windows Phone Marketplace, with 10,000 being added in the last 25 days.

More than 60,000 items have now been published in the Windows Phone Marketplace. The rate of submissions continues to increase, with an average of 400 items added per day (measured over a four week period). That’s up from the average of 265 items per day the marketplace was getting when it passed the 50,000 mark in late December.
According to the report there are now 61,479 applications in the Windows Phone Marketplace from a total of 15,173 different application developers, we wonder how long it will takeMicrosoft to reach 100,000 apps.
