The Samsung Galaxy Note is a mobile Android device with a 5.3 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel capacitive touchscreen display, a digital pen for writing or drawing, and a 1.4 GHz dual core processor. It’s either the largest phone you’ve ever seen or one of the smallest tablets, depending on how you look at it — and the Galaxy Note is now available for pre-order in the US.
Best Buy and AT&T are both taking orders for the Galaxy Note. It’s available for $299.99 when you sign up for a 2-year contract. I don’t see an option to buy the Note without a contract yet, but Best Buy says it’s regularly priced at $749.99.
Customers that pre-order should get the device by February 17th. It will be available in-stores starting February 19th.
Samsung is pushing the Galaxy Note pretty hard, and even had artists using the mini-tablet with a stylus to draw charactertures of CES attendees last month. While that’s not something you’re likely to do very often, the Note is certainly one of the few devices that stands out from the crowd thanks to its stylus, unusual display size, and high resolution screen.
The Galaxy Note runs Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Samsung’s TouchWiz and S-Pen software and supports AT&T’s 4G LTE network. It can also make phone calls.
