I was skeptical about the rumored next generation iPhone's design. The
two-tone unibody enclosure shown in crappy videos didn't say anything to me. Then I saw these renderings, using the allegedly leaked parts as reference.
Now I'm starting to love it.

While the current iPhone 4 and 4S gets me back to the 70s—
specially with my JackBack on—the new iPhone 2012 reminds me of the 80s. The two-tone black anodized aluminum reminds me of
the old AV Sony designs of the era—like their first CD player.

But while its general design spirit seems 90s, the perforated grills flanking the new nano-dock port are so simple and neat—their clean precision screams high tech.

The front is just glass, like it always have been. Putting the camera centered with all the elements of the front—speaker grill, screen and home button—is a small change that makes all the difference.
