Pentax K-01 Mirrorless Camera Officially Launched (video)

Today Pentax has officially announced the new highly anticipated Pentax K-01 mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera. Which is equipped with the same K-mount lens mount used by Pentax’s DSLR lenses. The design for the new Pentax K-01 has been created by Australian industrial designer Marc Newson, featuring a rubberised, ribbed grip covering on an aluminium frame.
The Pentax K-01 has been built around a 16-megapixel APS-C sensor, providing roughly 13 times the size of the 1/2.3-inch-type sensor found in the Pentax Q. ISO settings range from ISO 100 to ISO 25,600, and burst mode provides 6 frames per second capture at full resolution, and the camera will capture 1080p video at 24 fps, 25 fps, and 30 fps, as well as 720p video at 60 fps.

The new Pentax K-01 is also equipped with a body-based, sensor-shift image stabilisation system to accommodate legacy lenses without built-in optical stabilisation. Together with full manual exposure controls, and aperture- and shutter-priority modes, the Pentax K-01 has a dedicated exposure-bracketing HDR setting accessible via its top-mounted mode dial.
The new Pentax K-01 mirrorless interchangeable-lens camer will be arriving in March, and be available in white, black, or yellow, priced at $750 for the body only and $900 as a kit with the superslim 40mm/F2.8 lens. (lens will also be sold separately for $250)
