Amazon has today rolled out a new update for its Kindle Fire Android tablet. The new Kindle Fire 6.2.2 update is very small and brings with it a new button which allows users to enable full-screen browsing on Amazon’s Silk web browser.
In the same vein as previous updates from Amazon the new software version 6.2.2, also removes root access to the device. Amazon is rolling out the new update over-the-air so most Kindle Fire devices will automatically download and install the update.
If your Kindle Fire is running a custom ROM such as MIUI or the popular CyanogenMod then the update will not be automatically applied. But if you aren’t hacker Justin Case has already updated his utility BurritoRoot that will allow you to easily add root access back to your Kindle Fire even after installing the latest software update 6.2.2.
