We have been hearing for quite some time that the iPad 3 would come with a high resolution display, and high resolution images have been discovered in some iOS applications previously, back in January 2010.
Yesterday Apple released their new iBooks 2 and now some new high resolution images have appeared in iBooks 2, which are reported to be for the new iPad 3.
The images were discovered by Sonny Dickson, and you can see a comparison between the standard image and the high resolution image below.
According to The Next Web, the images would display correctly on a 2048 x 1536 resolution display, this is the rumored resolution that we have been hearing about for the iPad 3.
The display is expected to features a 260 PPI, which is lower than the display of 300 PPI on theiPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, but this would apparently still qualify as a retina display.
We recently heard that Apple are expected to announce the iPad 3 next month, and the device is expected to go on sale in early March, and we suspect this time we will see an iPad with a high resolution display.
