As well as announcing record profits, plus record sales of the iPhone and iPad, Apple also released some details on how much money they have paid to developers of applications for their iOS platform.
Apple announced back in 20120 that they had paid developers over $1 billion in revenue, this jumped to $2.5 billion by the summer of 2011, and now Apple has announced that they have paid out a massive $4 billion to application developers.
Apple takes around a 30 percent cut of all revenue for apps sold on the companies variousapp stores, so if they have paid over $ billion to developers it means that the total revenue generated would be around $5.71 billion, this means that Apple has made around $1.71 billion from the app store to date.
